Top 10 Songs Off The Beatles First 3 Albums

Tony Sheridan just passed away at the age of 72

If you don't know who Tony Sheridan was, check out some of The Beatles earliest recordings. You'll hear his voice. He was also the first British musician to play the electric guitar on TV. He toured with the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry.

He wasn't involved with The Beatles for long but he was key to their career.

Tony used to perform in Hamburg in the early 1960's when he met Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe on bass at the time and Pete Best on drums. He introduced the band to Little Richard recordings among other early R&B recordings and also helped them shape their look at the time (leather bomber jackets, boots).

"Tony was a good guy who we knew and worked with from the early days in Hamburg. We regularly watched his late night performances and admired his style. He will be missed" - Paul on Tony's passing

In honor of Tony, heres our first top 10 list.

P.S. I Love You ;)

Welcome to Cantaloup Island

A blog about music. (yes we're aware Cantaloup is spelled with an "e" at the end but that was taken lol)

I know, how original. Because there aren't enough blogs about music out there as it is...

Here's the difference:
We have a really big thing for the past. Whose "we", you ask? Nikki Yanofsky and Andrew Yanofsky.
We're convinced we're born in the wrong era. Impossible though, considering that Ange is 22 and I'm 19.

Each post will cover something current and how we feel it relates to our favorite oldies. This blog will be filled with Top 10s, YouTube vids, lyrics, awesome songs you've never heard of and will thank us for showing you ;) and where music today fits within it all.

Basically we're 2 super opinionated people that don't have enough to do with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.. (Ange says "no Nik, thats just you, don't bring me down with you there".. hahah)
